Timothy Curran

IRON MOUNTAIN — Timothy Lyle Curran, 77, of Iron Mountain passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in the comfort of his own home.
Tim was born in Ishpeming on April 4, 1948, son of the late Lyle and Marjorie (Johnson) Curran. He graduated from Kingsford High School in 1966. After graduation, Tim was accepted to continue his education at Michigan Tech.
On Sept. 6, 1969, he was married to the love of his life, Sandra “Sam” (Marema) Curran. Right after the wedding and before Tim could complete his degree, Tim was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving for three years 1971-1974. Following his military service, he became a member of the local Carpenters Union and then he worked for the CR Meyer Niagara and Quinnesec Mills until retiring in 2011.
Tim enjoyed time at camp, playing cards, watching the Packers, and spending time with his family and friends. Tim kept himself busy designing and building new projects with his buddy, Rodney Ray, riding the motorcycle with Sam, or jumping on his tractor to do some farming. Tim will be remembered for his sarcastic humor, hard work and creativity, and his willingness to help anyone in need.
Tim will be deeply missed by his wife, Sandra; two children, Sarah (Micah) Williams and Benjamin (Mindy) Curran; three grandchildren, Elaina Joy, Micah Timothy, and Evan James Williams; three siblings, Kim Thiry, Kelly (Sherry) Curran, and Kristen (Tami) Curran, his special aunt Joann Pilon and many other friends and family.

In addition to his parents, Tim is preceded in death by six siblings, Robert (Joan) Curran, Marjorie (James) Blignaut, Michael “Mickey” Curran, Dan Curran, Mary Schinderle, and Susan “Susie” Larson.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held for family and close friends at a later date.
Special thanks to Dean Schinderle, the entire family of Adam Ray, and the “Angels on Earth” from Marshfield Dickinson Home Health & Hospice for the amazing support and care given to Tim during his final days.
