Appreciates cleanup of cemetery in time for Mother’s Day

Bouquets and Barbs

Bouquet — From C.T. Hallgren, Norway: Roses to the caretaker and ground crew of the Norway Township cemetery. Despite the horrible “working weather” — damp, cold and rain — that we’ve been having recently, the crew has done an outstanding job of cleaning up in time for Mother’s Day. The grounds are nicely manicured and the trees trimmed; people are putting out baskets and arrangements of colorful flowers in tribute for the holiday. It speaks highly of the care and concern of a small community. Thank you.

Good effort behind Forest Park fan bus to track meet

Bouquet — From Lindsey Anderson, Crystal Falls: A huge “thank you” to the Forest Park High School track and field team, Iron Endurance, Forest Park School, and the kind folks at North Dickinson County School for their collaboration in facilitating a Trojan fan bus to the track meet at North Dickinson on April 30. The cost was free and offered to K-12th-grade students. The trip included a bus ride, meet entry fee and a light dinner. It was chilly but everyone had a blast cheering on the athletes and seeing all of the different events. For the athletes, who are without a track to host home meets, showing off their talents to students from their home school was very exciting as well.
