Bouquet: I was fortunate Sept. 11 to be able to enjoy the Friday night Kingsford High School marching band’s performance at the Breitung Township Schools’ football field. Only a certain number of tickets were distributed to the band members in order to follow the governor’s COVID-19 executive order.

These music students have worked so hard practicing for football season, it was a shame to have their halftime performances taken away by the stroke of a pen. However, what they came up with was a 30- to 45-minute musical presentation, complete with formations and backbends by the drum majors.

I would like to thank Logan Galino, KHS music department director, and all of the talented high school musicians for giving us a special treat on what otherwise would’ve been a very boring Friday night. Our community should be very proud of all our young people who shine a bright light during these dark COVID-19 times.
