Family enjoyed a pair of events this holiday season

Bouquets and Barbs

Bouquets: One cold wintery afternoon my family took in “The Polar Express” at The Braumart Theatre, which was sponsored by the Dickinson Area Community Foundation.

This wonderful foundation provided free admission and popcorn for all who attended. The elegantly dressed conductor, with an uncanny resemblance to Tom Hanks, even punched our tickets before we entered the theater.

Our community is extremely lucky to have such wonderful organizations as The Dickinson Area Community Foundation and the Friends of the Braumart. Thanks to the tireless work of the Friends of Braumart, movies, plays, concerts, ballets can be watched once again in this historic theater.

Dickinson County is truly blessed to have such wonderful organizations working hard for the good of the community. Another blessing of living in a small town.

Attendees of Iron Mountain’s Christmas band concert were delighted with the Iron Mountain Concert’s band’s performance of Michael Jack’s “Thriller,” complete with smoke machine and dancing Grinches dressed as Santa Claus.

Concert goers also enjoyed the more traditional Christmas favorites throughout the evening, which ended with the show stealing “Thriller!” It was a perfect combination of beautiful music and well-executed choreography! Looking forward to the next Iron Mountain band concert and excited to see what they will come up with next.

Starting at $2.99/week.
