Save and donate those grocery store receipts
Bouquets and Barbs
Bouquet: I would like to thank two area businesses that are giving back to the community, Super One Foods and MarketPlace Foods.
These two grocery stores allow area businesses that serve the public to collect their store receipts and redeem them for a penny on the dollar for, respectively, “Community Dollars” and “We Share” promotions.
That might not sound like a great return, but the place where I volunteer, Breen Senior Center in Kingsford, has received $508 so far this year from Super One and we have received $205 from MarketPlace. (I didn’t meet the semi-annual deadline in October or MarketPlace’s would have been higher.)
Community service agencies like ours are helped greatly by donations from individuals and businesses.
So to anyone reading this — don’t throw your MarketPlace or Super One sales receipts away. Give them to a service agency or any organization that accepts them. You will be doing a service to your community and supporting businesses that support us. Thank you.
