Former Patriots star earns All-East honor

LANCASTER, Pa. — Lancaster Bible College junior Courtney Goyak has once again earned a national women’s basketball honor.

The 6-foot-2 junior from Beecher, Wis., was named to the D3hoops.com All-East Region third team. This is the second straight season Goyak has been recognized by D3hoops.com, as she was named to the second team last season.

The former Goodman-Pembine high school star appeared in all 26 of Lancaster Bible’s games this season, collecting 13.9 points and 18.3 rebounds per game. Her 18.3 rebounds per game led NCAA Division III, and she also led the country with 13 defensive rebounds per game.

Goyak, who was one of three Lancaster Bible players named to the NEAC All-Conference First Team, also averaged 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest in 2017-18. She was one of three Lancaster Bible players to record 130 plus field goals this season.

On Feb. 2, Goyak became just the third player in program history to grab 1,000 rebounds, and she will enter her senior season next year just 157 rebounds away from breaking the all-time record of 1,249 currently held by Aubrey Folger.

The 2017-18 Chargers finished 17-9, and finished first in the NEAC South Division for the sixth straight season.
