MSU advances in WNIT
EAST LANSING – Shay Colley’s layup with less than two seconds left lifted the Michigan State women’s basketball team over Toledo 68-66 Monday in the second round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
MSU (19-13) advances to the third round, where the Spartans will play at South Dakota at 7 p.m. (Central time) Thursday.
Coming off the bench after missing a game with an injury, freshman forward Sidney Cooks led the Spartans with 15 points. Crystal Falls’ Lexi Gussert had a rebound in 15 minutes of playing time.
