CLARE — Superior Timing of Marquette was presented with a special appreciation award by the Association of Track Officials of Michigan.

Superior Timing, owned by Sam Graci Sr. and his son Sam, received the award during ATOM’s recent mid-winter clinic in Clare.

“The award is given annually to an individual or organization who has demonstrated outstanding and unselfish support to the betterment of athletics in the state of Michigan,” said Iron Mountain’s John Meyer, ATOM Region 8 representative.

Meyer added that the award also covers support for men’s and women’s track and field or cross country programs, ATOM, and Michigan High School Athletic Association.

In addition to high school track and field and cross country meets throughout the UP and midwest, Superior Timing provides timing for GLIAC collegiate races, Nordic ski events, road and bike races, and triathlons.
