FLORENCE, Wis. — Florence High School will honor the 1989 boys basketball state championship basketball team Friday.

“This year marks the 30-year reunion of this great accomplishment in Bobcat history,” said present Florence boys basketball coach Bryan Bomberg. “It’s with great honor that we take this time to reflect upon and welcome back our boys basketball state champions and their families.”

The Bobcats (6-3, 5-1) will host Three Lakes on Friday in a Northern Lakes Conference game.

The celebration will begin at 5 p.m., with a viewing of the state championship game in the high school lunchroom. Cake will be served during the presentation of the actual television broadcast.

Between the junior varsity and varsity contests, the 1989 state championship team’s coaches, managers and players will be honored.
