Girls Basketball: Springers pace Cats over White Lake

FLORENCE, Wis. — The Springer sisters combined for 41 points and Florence spilled White Lake 84-17 in Northern Lakes Conference girls basketball Thursday.

The Bobcats (3-5, 1-3) rolled to a 48-8 halftime lead. Florence head coach Brad Perry said the Lakers had five girls on the team, with three freshmen.

“The girls played hard,” Perry said. “White Lake is re-energizing their program after not having a team for the past two years. We worked on some little things and the effort was there.”

Jenna Springer scored a game-high 22 points with 12 steals, four assists and six rebounds. Jordyn Springer added 19 points and seven steals. Kathleen Selden had 12 points.

Florence shot 52 percent from the floor (36-68). Bobcats posted 29 steals.

Florence will host Goodman-Pembine at 6 p.m. in a varsity-only night. Game time is 6 p.m.
