Badgers turn back STAA, Pristelski
MARINETTE, Wis. — Niagara overcame 30 points from Alexa Pristelski to beat St. Thomas Aquinas Academy 64-51 in M&O Conference girls basketball Saturday.
The Badgers (15-4, 9-4), led by 18 points apiece from Cassie Gill and Jessica Oratch, moved to a 35-17 lead at halftime.
Pristelski hit seven three-point field goals. STAA has just five players on the team.
The Badgers close out the regular season Tuesday with Gillett and Coleman.
Niagara landed a third-seed in the WIAA Division 5 tournament. The Badgers will host No. 14 Goodman-Pembine on Tuesday, Feb. 19. Seventh-seeded Florence will host Bowler in a regional opener.
Oneida Nation and Wausaukee landed the top two berths, respectively.
