U.P. tennis honors for IM, Wykons
IRON MOUNTAIN — The Division 2 All U.P. Tennis Team for 2019 was selected this week by the seven UP Division 2 coaches, with Iron Mountain and West Iron each filling three spots on the first team.
No. 1 singles players Macy McCormick of Iron Mountain and Livea Mazurek of West Iron were named to the first team. Claire Mongrain of Iron Mountain was also named to the first team as a No. 2 singles player.
No. 1 doubles teams Eden Golliher and Tori Bociek of West Iron and Callie Bianco and Megan Murray of Iron Mountain
were named to the first team as well. Lady Wykons Emily Nelson and Anna Malmquist were also named to the first team as No. 2 doubles players.
No. 3 singles player Arianna Morel of Iron Mountain received an honorable mention.
Division 2 U.P. champion Westwood led the way in earning six first team or honorable mention slots. No. 1 singles player Madelyn Koski of Westwood was named Player of the Year. Westwood coach Sarah Massie was Coach of the Year.
