DAHA 8U Iron Mountain Animal Hospital squad takes title in Mite team tournament

MANISTIQUE — Dickinson Amateur Hockey Association’s Iron Mountain Animal Hospital 8U Mite team took first place at the 2021 Manistique Rotary Mite Melt Tournament on March 27-28.

IMAH defeated Manistique 8-2 and Alpena Two 18-1 on March 27; then IMAH tied KG Remax from Negaunee 2-2 and turned away Alpena One 8-1 on March 28 to qualify for the championship game.

Tied 1-1 halfway through the championship game, IMAH battled into the final minutes to beat Negaunee 6-4 and bring home the title.

Tournament fees for the Mite team were sponsored by Timber Products of Iron Mountain Inc. DAHA also has a mini-mite division for skaters as young as age 4. If interested in next season, like the DAHA page on Facebook for updates.
