Bluejays nip KHS soccer

PHELPS, Wis. — In a boys soccer game, Kingsford was defeated, 3-2 Thursday night by Wisconsin opponent Three Lakes-Phelps.

Three Lakes scored two goals in the first half, making it 2-0 at the break. Kingsford’s Dennis Neuens scored two goals in the second half to tie it up, but the Bluejays added another.

Jaxon Buckley and Gavin Laydon assisted Kingsford’s first goal, while Jacob Crockford set up Neuens’ second tally.

“It was an evenly fought match and they just scored one more goal than us,” said Kingsford head coach Jeff Gordon.

The Flivvers (10-5-2) conclude their 2021 season today as they compete in the U.P. Tournament at Marquette.
