Flivvers shut out Gremlins

HOUGHTON — Megan Bittinger scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Kingsford to a 4-0 victory over host Houghton on Tuesday.

Libby Vross opened the scoring with a header off a corner kick from Bittinger. Bittinger followed with the Flivvers’ second goal off an assist from Mia Counter.

Ingrid Holt scored unassisted to put Kingsford up 3-0 and Bittinger closed out the scoring with her second of the evening off an assist from Holt.

“Overall, the girls passed and played well,” Kingsford coach Jenette Gunville said. “Great communication on the field and they kept their intensity into the second half.”

The Flivvers took on Peshtigo at Commemorative Field on Thursday. They are headed to Elk Rapids over the weekend for multiple games.
