Giuliani posts win at Houghton Invite
HOUGHTON — Forest Park sophomore Vic Giuliani won the high jump to lead all Trojan athletes at the co-ed Houghton Invitational on Thursday.
Giuliani recorded a leap of 5 feet, 10 inches to win his first-place medal. Izaiah Tarter placed second in the 1,600 (4:56.36) and the Trojans 3,200 relay squad of Tarter, Joey Mainville, William Hoffman and Max Mainville placed second (8:58.05).
Sophomore Vienna Price topped the Lady Trojans on the day with a runner-up finish in the 1,600 (5:50.64).
The Trojan boys wound up fourth in the team standings of the seven-school competition. Houghton won the trophy with 186 points with Lake Linden-Hubbell second with 113 and Calumet third with 85.
The Lady Trojans placed sixth with 38 points in the eight-team event. The Gremlin girls were victorious with a team score of 136.5. Lake Linden-Hubbell took second with 119.5 and Calumet placed third with 92.
