“I always look forward to playing Niagara,” Florence coach Daniel Robinson said. “It makes for a competitive game.
“Both teams made some mistakes, but overall, it was great game.”
Allison Wood stood out both at the plate and in the circle for the LadyCats. She belted a home run to aid the offense, and she controlled the Badgers’ offense for the most part, striking out 16 without issuing a free pass.
Wood allowed six hits in her winning performance.
Ashley Peterson and Miley VanDenHeuvel led the Florence attack, each going 3 for 4 with a double. Aurora McCarthy recorded two hits, while Sami Demuri, Quinn Cassidy and Audrey Franz chipped in with a hit each.
“All around the girls are hitting the ball well,” Robinson said. “Niagara made some awesome plays to rob us of some hits.
