UM recruit LaMarche helps Esky check Flivvers

Escanaba senior standout Grayson LaMarche struck out 13 Kingsford hitters in a 10-0 five-inning victory in the first game of the Eskymos’ doubleheader sweep of the host Flivvers on Tuesday.

The University of Michigan recruit dominated in the circle as she often does, surrendering just one hit, a double by Kingsford junior Karly Trevillian. LaMarche did not issue a free pass in the game.

Mya Brunswick started for the Flivvers and took the loss. She pitched five innings, allowed five earned runs and 13 hits. She struck out five and walked one.

Escanaba wrapped up the sweep with a 10-1 triumph in the finale. Landry Bray threw a complete game five-hitter to post the win. She fanned 14 and walked three.

Brunswick and Anna Bortolini recorded two hits each for Kingsford. Reagan Cram pitched all seven innings for the Flivvers, allowing four earned runs on 11 hits. She struck out two and walked five.
