Sanicki, Guardiola garner M&O softball honors
NIAGARA, Wis. — Niagara senior outfielder Mallory Sanicki and sophomore infielder Paige Guardiola were selected to the Marinette and Oconto Conference first team in a recent vote by league coaches.
Other Lady Badgers honored were senior infielder Rachel Walker and junior pitcher Elesia Sweig, both selected to the second team, and sophomore Grace Payette, honorable mention.
First-team pitchers included Crivitz senior Isabelle Schwartz and Coleman sophomore Makenzie Nowak.
Meanwhile, first-team catchers were Lena/Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy senior Maddy Kushner and Crivitz sophomore Isabella Wesoloski. Joining Guardiola on the first-team infield were Coleman junior Alyssa Kurth, Gillett/Suring senior Emma Kristof and Wausaukee senior Lydia Schaal.
The first-team outfield also included Coleman senior Annabell Markiewicz and Lena/STAA sophomore Adrena Rabas.
Lena/STAA senior Peyton Dorow joined Sweig as a second-team pitcher.
The second team catchers were Coleman senior Madelyn Straub and Wausaukee sophomore Coreen Schroeder.
In addition to Walker, the second-team infield included Coleman junior Macy Nowak, Crivitz junior Hattie Frievalt and Lena/STAA senior Hannah Thomson.
Among those picked to the second-team outfield included Coleman senior Montana Fonder, Crivitz sophomore Kiya Brand, Gillett/Suring sophomore Clara Schaal and Wausaukee junior Katie Murray.
Honorable mention was also given to Coleman senior Madalyn Seefeldt, Crivitz sophomore Brecken Ott, Gillett/Suring sophomore Aleena Broetzman, Lena/STAA senior Hanna Parrett and Wausaukee freshman Josie Seehawer.
Gillett/Suring’s Kristof was chosen as the conference player of the year.
