Stanchina named Skyline POY
Norway, Forest Park and North Dickinson represented on all-league first team

NORWAY — Norway junior Kara Stanchina was named the Skyline Central Conference softball player of the year in a recent vote by league coaches.
Stanchina helped lead the Knights to a 14-0 conference record and the league championship. Rapid River and Forest Park tied for second in the conference.
Forest Park junior Jessie Loehr was selected as the offensive player of the year, while North Dickinson senior Mary Grace Holmes was picked as the defensive player of the year.
Stephenson senior Halley Motto was given the sportsmanship award.
Norway senior Emma Dube and freshman Kendall Burklund led area choices for the all-conference first team, which also included Forest Park senior Kaidince Woollard and sophomore Tessa Bartoszek and North Dickinson sophomore Dalaney Steinbrecher.
Other first-team selections included Bark River-Harris juniors Kaiya Davis and Ella Gonzalez along with Superior Central senior Sammie Johnson and junior Hope Brungraeber.
The second team selections included Norway juniors Anna deBidart and Payton Paquette and sophomore Jordyn Moln, North Dickinson sophomore Ava Oman, Forest Park senior Dalaney Wagner, Bark River junior Kaet Erickson and sophomore Taylor Klee and Rapid River junior Aubrey Olson.
Special mention was given to North Dickinson junior Janessa Chartier and freshman Alyson Steinbrecher, Forest Park senior Skylar VanOss and sophomore Khalie Woollard and Superior Central juniors Kiera McDonald and Addie Frusti.
Honorable mention was given to Norway freshman Lilly Tomlanovich, Forest Park freshman Rainey VanOss, Carney senior Bristal Castle and freshman Avamae Michaud, and Rapid River senior Emma Sundling.
