A flock of wild turkeys takes flight through the mists at Six Mile Lake in north Dickinson County. The fall turkey hunting season in Michigan will begin Sunday, Sept. 15, and continues through Nov. 14. The entire Upper Peninsula has a maximum license quota of 1,500, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
