IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office has seen some recent staff changes with the promotion of Kristin Kass to chief assistant prosecutor and the hiring of Alex Sieminski as an assistant prosecutor.

“I am privileged to have such a dedicated and experienced prosecutor like Ms. Kass as part of our team — her promotion to chief assistant prosecutor is well-deserved,” said Dickinson County Prosecutor Lisa Richards, who has been with the office for 17 years and is in her second term as chief prosecutor. “I’m also happy to welcome Mr. Sieminski to the office and look forward to working with him.”

Kass was promoted after the retirement earlier this year of former Chief Assistant Prosecutor Carl Downing.

Kass attended Kingsford High School and St. Norbert College before graduating from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2006. She interned with the Dickinson County Prosecutor’s Office while in law school and then practiced criminal defense law in lower Michigan after graduation. She has been with the prosecutor’s office as an assistant prosecutor since 2009.

Sieminski has filled the assistant prosecutor vacancy.

Sieminski is from Menominee and graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2012 with a juris doctorate. He previously worked as a general practice attorney in Menominee County.
