Michael Maule

NORWAY — The Norway City Council voted Monday to dedicate a senior league baseball field at Marion Park to the late Mike Maule.

Maule, who died in April 2018, was a coach, mentor and league official in Norway area youth baseball for more than 50 years.

City Manager Ray Anderson characterized Maule as someone both youth and adults admired.

The council also:

— Heard Scott Klebunde of Hydro Consulting and Maintenance Services Inc. recommend generating unit four at the Sturgeon Falls Hydroelectric Facility either be refurbished or upgrading entirely to correct excessive vibration. His upcoming report will detail the cost and time needed for both options.

— Approved up to $2,260 to install emergency fire or flooding sensors inside the powerhouse for units one and two of the hydroelectric facility.

— Extended the deadline for winter tax bills collected by the city from Feb. 15 to Feb. 28.
