Norway-Vulcan eyes building needs

By BRIAN CHRISTENSEN 1 min read

NORWAY -- The Norway-Vulcan School Board is making plans for a possible bonding issue to come later this year for building improvements.

The board Wednesday shifted the Aug. 14 regular meeting to Aug. 7 to accommodate what Superintendent Lou Steigerwald described as a time-specific bonding item.

Details are still being worked out, but it would allow the district to avoid borrowing from the general fund, Steigerwald said.

In other business, the board:

-- Agreed to continue cooperative classes with Breitung Township Schools and North Dickinson County Schools that allows students from the three high schools to take courses at other districts.

-- Tentatively set June 26 to present and approve the 2019-20 school district budget.
