College Basketball: Former Trojans’ Carlson named ACAA Player of the Week

HANCOCK -- Finlandia University's Austin Carlson was named American Collegiate Athletic Association men's basketball Player of the Week.

The former Forest Park High School standout had a monster week for the Lions, posting three double-doubles, pushing his streak to four. Carlson capped the week with a 33-point, 13-rebound and block performance against Siena Heights.

Carlson also moved to fourth on the career blocked shot list and is the 11th Lion to record 400 career rebounds.

For the week, he averaged 20.7 points, 12 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game while shooting 65 percent from the field (26 of 40).

Carlson, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound senior, is the second Finlandia player to win honors this season.
