Boys basketball: Norway falls to Stephenson

NORWAY — Stephenson rallied in the second half to sink Norway 61-51 in Skyline Central Conference action Friday.

The Knights (4-8, 2-3) jumped out to a 21-13 lead in the first quarter and 32-29 at halftime.

“We came out and played much harder than we did in our previous game,” said Norway coach Jeff Gallino. “We rotated the ball well against their zone. We haven’t seen 21 first-quarter points all year.”

Kody Hendricks’ 14 points and 12 rebounds led the Knights. Logan Parolini added 10 points. Joey Starzynski’s 18 points paced the Eagles, who outscored the Knights 32-19 in the second half.

“Tale of two halves,” Gallino said. “Our passing was atrocious in the second half. Starzynski is a really good player. He had some really nice drives to the basket.”

Norway hosts Carney-Nadeau on Tuesday.
