Softball: Norway sweeps Stephenson

NORWAY -- Norway cruised to a doubleheader sweep over Stephenson on Tuesday.
The Knights (9-8) won by scores of 9-0 and 14-0.
"Everybody got a lot of at-bats. The first- and second-string got to play, which is nice to see," Norway head coach Bob Bal said. "It's nice to get games like that. Stephenson's struggling with pitching but I told the girls it's the same swing. You just gotta sit back. They had some pretty nice hits today."
Norway held Stephenson to three hits on the day including two in the second game.
The Knights had a six-run inning in both games. Norway scored six in the second inning of the first game and six in the third of the nightcap.
Facing slower pitchers with a huge lead kept Bal on his toes guarding against his players developing bad habits.
"As we were talking on the bench, you learn some bad habits because everybody wants to kill it," Bal said. "You just gotta put it in play. That's what I told the girls."
Norway hosts Superior Central on Thursday.
