Marquette Mountain to host annual trails festival
MARQUETTE — The Marquette Trails Festival opens Friday and continues through weekend, featuring mountain bike races, trail running races and socials.
The festival is part of the Noquemanon Trail Network; proceeds are donated back into the trails systems for new trails, maintenance, and community events. The 2017 Marquette Trails Festival raised $9,657 to donate back to the NTN.
“Last year, we had over 500 participants competing in everything from a cross-country mountain bike race to a 5k trail run. We also have events specifically for kids and a bonfire and social gathering to go with the event,” said Nicholas Dobbs, Marquette Trails Festival race director.
“As a fun, family and community-oriented festival we strive to bring a little something for everyone,” Dobbs continued. “Whether you’re a racer, a volunteer, or you just want to spectate, the Marquette Trails Festival would love to have you as a part of the crew.”
