Possible COVID-19 exposure site identified in IM

Local health officials Monday advised of a possible COVID-19 exposure at Solberg’s Greenleaf Sports Bar in Iron Mountain from Sept. 5 through Saturday.

Those who were at the restaurant at 1340 Carpenter Ave. during that period may be at higher risk for contracting if larger crowds were present and masking and social distancing guidelines were not consistently followed, according to the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department.

DIDHD is recommending those who visited this business in the past week monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms and contact their medical provider if they become symptomatic. Symptoms typically will appear within two to 14 days of the exposure. If symptoms worsen to the point of needing emergency care, call 911 and notify the dispatcher of any potential exposure.

The establishment has been cooperative, has patron safety in mind and should not be avoided due to this past potential exposure, the DIDHD stated in a news release.

As always, DIDHD continues to recommend adhering to all social distancing and hygienic practices needed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including wearing a face mask, avoiding large gatherings and maintaining social distancing when around other people. Avoid sharing personal items such as utensils, water bottles and cell phones.
