Community meal to be served Sunday

NORWAY — Grace United Methodist Church of Norway will host a free community meal from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday. The menu will be scalloped potatoes and ham with dessert. There is no charge for the dinner, but a donation basket will be available for those who want to make a contribution toward the meals. Jesus Fest slated Saturday in Escanaba

ESCANABA — The fourth-annual Jesus Festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Eastern time Saturday at the Ludington Park bandshell in Escanaba. The regional event has brought in up to 3,500 people over a weekend. With 10 churches from various denominations, almost 200 volunteers, salvations and baptisms, it provides something many people are seeking: Hope. DCCC sets rehearsals for annual holiday concert

KINGSFORD — The Dickinson County Community Chorus will begin rehearsing Tuesday, Sept. 8, for the upcoming “Sounds of Christmas” concert. Rehearsals will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall of the First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford.
