Rock Lions Club plans Labor Day celebration
ROCK — The Rock Lions Club will host their annual Labor Day celebration on Saturday, Sept. 5. The parade, with the “America 250” theme, is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. Parade registration starts at 10:30 a.m. on East Maple Ridge Road. The celebration features a kids’ tractor pull at 2 p.m., bounce houses, a bean bag tournament, cow pie bingo, a flea market and more. Live music will be provided throughout the event. Braumart to host ‘Somewhere in Time’ romance experience
IRON MOUNTAIN — Romance and history will take center stage Sunday, Aug. 30, when the century-old Braumart Theatre hosts “A Romantic Afternoon: Somewhere in Time,” featuring historical romance author Eleanor Morelli. The event begins at 2 p.m., with doors opening at 1 p.m. Admission is $8. Guests will have an opportunity to meet Morelli and learn more about her historical romance novel, “Invitation from Iron Ridge,” as well as her upcoming release.
