DETROIT — Cori Olshavsky and Andrew Starr were united in marriage on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, during a 3 p.m. ceremony in Conservatory Gardens at Belle Isle Park in Detroit. The bride’s mother, Sherry Mullins, officiated the ceremony.

She wore an ivory dress that had been modified with love by her grandmother, Sandy Provence.

The reception was held at Historic Casino in Belle Isle Park.

The bride is the daughter of Sherry Mullins of Bloomfield Township, Mich., and Dennis Olshavsky of Hazel Park, Mich.

The groom is the son of Jim and Sue Starr of Iron Mountain.

Main of honor was Amanda Olshavsky, bride’s cousin and closest friend. Bridesmaids were Jessica Jackson, friend since childhood, and Vanessa Vojinov, friend from college.

Bestman was Tyler Kime, college friend.

Groomsmen were Adam Kurtovic, college friend; Dan Starr, groom’s brother; and Tony Ruppell, cousin and close friend.

Flowergirl was the couple’s daughter, Layla Starr, and ringbearer was nephew Isaac Starr.

The bride is a 2009 graduate of Churchill High School, a 2013 graduate of Oakland University, and received her master’s degree in social work at Wayne State University in 2015. She is currently a social worker at St. John’s Hospital.

The groom is a 2007 graduate of Kingsford High School and received his doctorate of pharmacy from Ferris State University in 2013. He is the lead pharmacist at All American Medical Pharmacy.

The couple had their honeymoon in Germany.
