KINGSFORD — David and Shirley Oberthaler of Kingsford celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on May 29.

Both were raised in the Upper Peninsula and after 30 years of David’s military service they came back home to retire.

David and Shirley have three daughters, Andrea (Andrew) Johnson of Wyoming, Mich.; Amy (Steve) Gorman of Lake in the Hills, Ill.; and Alice (John) Maher of Crystal Lake, Ill. They have six grandchildren to spoil, Sam, Claire, Nick, Isaac, Brady and Abbey.

Once it’s safe again for families to gather, David and Shirley look forward to a celebratory brunch in honor of their 50 years together.
