Rebeca and Eduardo Mata of Mundelein, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Liliana Mata, to Joseph Ashbacher of Waukegan, Ill. Joseph is the son of Keith and Jayna Huotari of Iron Mountain and Rick and Ann Ashbacher of Vernon Hills, Ill. Lily is a 2014 graduate of Mundelein High School, earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago in 2019, and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in clinical psychology there. Joseph is a 2013 graduate of Vernon Hills High School in Vernon Hills, Ill., and is employed as a clinical packaging operator for Abbvie, Inc., in North Chicago, Ill. An Aug. 7, 2021, ceremony is planned in Rockford, Ill.
