Christmas concert Friday with Steem at the Braumart

STEEM, FEATURING Steve March-Torme and Michael Bailey, performs Friday at the Braumart in Iron Mountain.

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Braumart in Iron Mountain will host a Christmas concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, featuring the musical group Steem, fronted by Steve March-Torme and Michael Bailey.

“For Kids from 1 to 92” spans musical genres — featuring everything from lush and beautiful traditional Christmas fare to great pop songs and really joyful rock. This feast of musical styles is woven together by the spirit of the season. Part of that spirit for March-Torme is in singing the classic written by his dad, Mel, “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting)” — nostalgic for obvious reasons. Vic Ferrari fans know that Michael Bailey’s effortless sounding pop voice is a beautiful fit for holiday favorites.

The show is backed by The HD Horns, Ken Skitch, Tyler Jones and Chris Felts; WAMI award-winning drummer Mike Underwood; guitarists Mike Kapp, Phil Smyth and Michael Murphy; vocalist and keyboardist Kathy Hammond; and with Len Nelson as emcee and on accordion.

March-Torme is a singer-songwriter who has headlined venues from the Detroit Jazz Festival to the McCallum Performing Arts Center in Palm Desert, Calif., to the Smith Center in Las Vegas, and performed worldwide from London to Japan, Australia to Brazil and Canada. Reviewers praise his “strong and true vocal chops” (PEOPLE Magazine), say his “voice is seductive and effortless” (L.A. Times), and that he’s “more than a jazz singer–he’s a consummate entertainer and an exceptionally versatile artist” (Music Connection Magazine).

Bailey is a founding member of the band Vic Ferrari. Entertaining audiences since 1988, Vic Ferrari has played more than 2,500 shows, including their “Symphony on the Rocks,” a high-powered rock symphony show of classic rock hits. Their loyal and large fan base has followed the group through 10 countries and 25 states to experience the fun and energy of their live shows. Vic Ferrari has won numerous awards, but its members say their greatest satisfaction comes from playing for people and their enjoyment.

A few tickets remain, but they are going fast. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.thebraumart.org.

Starting at $3.50/week.
