CRYSTAL FALLS -- Celebrate the official arrival of spring with a performance by The Way Down Wanderers at Crystal Theatre at 7 p.m. Friday.
Suitable for the changing season, the five-piece band from Peoria, Ill., brings "nu life" to bluegrass with earthbound lyrics and roots-pop melodies.
Lead singer/songwriters Collin Krause and Austin Thompson met as teenagers. To form The Way Down Wanderers, Krause and Thompson welcomed jazz percussionist John Merikoski, classical upright bassist John Williams and banjo player Travis Kowalsky.
Advanced individual tickets may be purchased before the day of the performance: online at thecrystaltheatre.org, in person at Stage Left next to the theatre 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday or by calling 906-875-3208.
