Little River Band to play at the Island Showroom

HARRIS — The late Glenn Frey, of Eagles fame, once dubbed the Little River Band “the best singing band in the world.” In 2025, LRB will celebrate 50 years and embark on their Happy Anniversary Tour, with a stop April 4 and 5 in Harris for two performances in the Island Showroom.

Through the ’70s and ’80s, LRB enjoyed huge chart success with multiplatinum albums and chart-topping hits like: “Cool Change,” “The Night Owls,” “Happy Anniversary,” “Reminiscing,” “Lonesome Loser,” “Take It Easy On Me,” “Help Is on Its Way,” “We Two,” “Man On Your Mind,” “The Other Guy,” and “It’s A Long Way There.”

Worldwide album, CD sales and digital downloads now top 35 million and LRB has set a record for having had Top 10 hits for 6 consecutive years. In fact, they were the very first band to achieve that remarkable status.

According to BMI, “Reminiscing” has garnered rare status with over 5 million airplays on American radio, and “Lady” is close behind with over 4 million airplays.

Headed by 44-year LRB veteran Wayne Nelson, the band continues to deliver those distinctive harmonies that are part and parcel of Little River Band’s history. To date, Nelson has contributed his talents on 24 of Little River Band’s albums/CDs. Other current band members include keyboardist Chris Marion, drummer and vocalist Ryan Ricks, and lead guitarist Colin Whinnery, who also shares lead vocal duties with Nelson.

Tickets for the band’s 50th Anniversary concerts are $40 and can be purchased by phone with credit card at 877-ISL-SHOW or online at islandresortandcasino.com.

Starting at $3.50/week.
