Upcoming activities at Dickinson County Library and branches

IRON MOUNTAIN — Dickinson County Library events for March include:

— Stress ReDUCKtion: Now through Tuesday, March 31, during regular hours at all library sites.

Rubber ducks will be hidden in certain areas of the libraries. If an adult or teen finds one, they can bring it up to the circulation desk and receive a small goodie bag of stress relief fun. They can keep the duck they find as well.

— All ages are welcome to enter the library’s 2025 Bookmark Contest. Entry forms are available at the circulation desks of all branches and must be returned by Wednesday, April 2. They will display entries at the Iron Mountain library for public voting from April 7 through April 13. In addition, entries will be posted to the library’s Facebook page that week; the entries with the most “likes” will get one extra vote. Winners will be chosen for each age group, and the winning bookmarks will be available at the library and in the Summer Reading registration bags. This year, winners will receive a small prize.

— Mahjong Monday: 1 to 3 p.m. Mondays on March 17, March 24 and March 31 at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

Beginner and expert adults will play mahjong, a tile-based game developed in 19th-century China. Those new to the game can learn from the instructor and seasoned players can play the game with one another. Participants should feel free to bring their own tiles to use, but it’s not necessary.

— Felch Senior Center Activity: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Felch Community Center, W4323 M-69.

After the community dinner, all ages can join the Dickinson County Library to make a fun mini-bird seed wreath.

— Little Senses Playgroup: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Dickinson County Library in Iron Mountain.

The playgroup is perfect for little hands to explore. Every month, they’ll have different stations designed to engage the child’s senses, such as tactile bins, sensory bottles, fine motor activities and early literacy activities. This is time for young children to discover and play at their own pace, though we do ask that an adult stays to supervise. While this event is ideal for ages 1 to 3, older siblings are welcome, too.

— Solomonson Branch Book Club: 2 p.m. Thursday at the Solomonson Branch in Norway.

Adults are invited to discuss “From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home” by Tembi Locke. New members are always welcome to join book club.

— Gamers’ Club: 3:15 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, at the North Dickinson Branch in Felch Township.

Get your game on with a variety of video and board games at the monthly program for kids in third through eighth grades.

— Don’t forget to ask about the library’s take-and-make kits for adults and kids. Stop by the local library site or check out the Facebook page to see what is available each week.

Starting at $3.50/week.
