Rising country rock sensation Corey Kent to appear at the Island Showroom

Corey Kent

HARRIS, Mich. — Corey Kent, who rose from humble heartland roots to a Platinum Number One hit maker with 750 million career streams, will appear for two shows Dec. 19-20 at the Island Showroom in Harris.

Tickets to each show are $40 and are on sale through the casino by calling 877-ISL-SHOW or online at islandresortandcasino.com.

With his red-dirt swagger and blue-collar grit, new-school country rocker Kent is blazing his own trail in the country music scene. A Sony Music Nashville artist, Kent has spent more than 15 years honing his craft and building a loyal fan base — all before hitting 30.

Now, with a powerful live show and a growing national buzz, he’s poised to become one of country music’s next breakout stars.

Kent’s stream of hits include “Wild as Her,” “Something’s Gonna Kill Me,” “This Heart” and “Gold.”

Drawing inspiration from The Eagles, Keith Richards, Turnpike Troubadours and more, Kent strives to build an undeniable stage presence, and his black bandana-wearing rock ‘n’ roll spirit comes to life on the stage.

That “Black Bandana” is more than an accessory — it’s the name of his sophomore major-label album.

“It started from riding motorcycles and wanting something over your face so you didn’t swallow a bug,” the singer-songwriter said. “But then it turned into a staple I wear on stage, and then a symbol of the path through my career and life. Through all the ups and downs, the one constant thing was this relentless hope — this relentless pursuit of believing that if I don’t give up, I can get where I’m going.”

This December, the two concerts in the Island Showroom before excited Midwest fans will be what he’s shooting for. “I’m excited about the shows I haven’t played yet,” Kent said. “I’m excited about unlocking new levels of my craft and writing more songs that people connect with deeply.”

Starting at $3.50/week.
