Crystal Theatre welcomes Marquette musicians The Make-Believe Spurs

The Make-Believe Spurs will perform Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls.
CRYSTAL FALLS — The Make-Believe Spurs brings the sounds of alternative folk and Americana music to the Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13.
Based in Marquette, the trio draws inspiration from artists such as Chris Stapleton, the Grateful Dead, John Prine, Tyler Childers and Nathaniel Rateliff.
Their versatile sound ranges from intimate harmonies to electric performances that tempt audiences to get up and dance.
Playing nearly 200 shows a year, the group has performed at a variety of regional venues including Northern Michigan University, Bay College, Cedar Point, the Black Squirrel Bluegrass and Americana Festival and the Hiawatha Music Co-Op.
Guitarist/vocalist Brian Wallen is a second-place winner of the International Blues Challenge and Molly Wallen is a classically trained vocalist with a background in opera. Drummer/vocalist Mavis Farr honed her craft in West African drums and percussion at Oakland University.
