Free showing of ‘Green and Gold’ movie at The Windsor Center

IRON RIVER — The movie filmed by Iron River brothers that premiered nationwide last year, “Green and Gold,” will be showing for free at the Windsor Center in Iron River at 1 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.

“Green and Gold” premiered in over 1,000 theaters on Jan. 31, 2025. It was directed by Anders Lindwall and produced by his brother, Davin Lindwall and stars Craig T. Nelson playing the role of Buck, a rural farmer who makes a “hail mary” play to save his farm. The film was endorsed by the Green Bay Packers and Culvers and has a PG rating (suitable for ages 7+).

The matinee showing at the Windsor Center is sponsored by the Community Christian Women or CCW, a group made up of women from 12 area churches.

“We wanted to give our community the chance to see this film that has touched so many hearts over the last year,” said Carla Thoune, spokesperson for the CCW.

“We can be proud that it was made by a couple of guys who grew up here, and that it puts a spotlight on what is really important and what we value in our hearts.” added Peggy Smith, CCW member.

Sylvia Lindwall, mom to the Lindwall bothers and another member of CCW echoed, “‘Green and Gold’ has some laughs, intense drama and even a nod to WIKB’s famous ‘Telephone Time.’ You’ll be touched by the heart the movie and encouraged to never give up hope.”

Free popcorn will be provided and there is no charge for admission.

Community Christian Women’s goal is to encourage women in their walk with God. Knowing Jesus as Savior and Lord is the first step. “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25.

Starting at $3.50/week.
