NORWAY — Get ready for Tippin’ Up 2026 at Alpha Brewing Co. in Alpha from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.
A highlight of the event will be Beerlympics that take place from 3 to 4 p.m., with the medal ceremony at 4:15 p.m. There will be two teams activities, the Waiter Relay and Pass the Beer Relay, along with two individual contests, Beer Can Toss Put and Stein Holding.
The Waiter Relay will have players balance full cups on a tray and race a course without spilling. Once they return, they must transfer the drinks to their next teammates tray and they repeat. Once all members completed their “lap” the beer left will be poured into a pitcher to be measured. The teams with the fastest time, most beer at the end win.
The Pass the Beer competition will have teams fill a cup with beer and pass the beer without spilling down the line of teammates to fill the pitcher at the end of the line. First team to fill their pitcher wins.
The player in the Toss Put who heaves a beer can the farthest wins. Those challenging others in the stein holding will have to do it with one arm out at shoulder level for the longest time.
The Ice Shanty Shenanigans will begin at noon, with set-up to start at 10 a.m. Everyone will search for the “Alpha” Salmon for a chance to win a prize.
The Tipsy Trout Tournament will run from noon to 2 p.m. Every half-hour, some of the tip-ups will be triggered. One of the first five to tip up to collect a fish can trade for a prize.
