MARQUETTE — After 10 years of rhythm, sparkle, and community impact, Dancing With Our Stars-Marquette County Style is officially returning — reimagined, refreshed and ready to shine brighter than ever.
The U.P. Hospice Foundation, in partnership with U.P. Home Health & Hospice, has announced “A Showcase of Stars — presented by Dancing with Our Stars-Marquette County Style,” a new evolution of the fundraiser.
While the format is changing, the heart of the event — and all the glamour, creativity and glitter audiences have come to love — remains the same.
To support this new vision, the event has been moved to Oct. 8, with an anticipated kickoff in May. The extended runway allows more time for creativity, collaboration, and community involvement as this next chapter takes shape.
A Showcase of Stars transforms the traditional dance competition into a full-scale variety show experience.
Groups of local stars, partnered with a Marquette Dance Pro, will take the stage with high-energy performances that blend dance, theatrical flair, costumes, music and imaginative storytelling.
The evening will feature live judging and audience engagement, culminating in two honors —
— Fan favorite award: Recognizing the top fundraising group;
— Talent award: Based on judges’ scores for performance, creativity and execution.
Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to get involved. Opportunities are available for —
— Star groups interested in performing;
— Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring;
— Creative collaborators who want to support hospice care in a meaningful way.
Final participation details, themes and showcase elements will be announced at the official kickoff in the spring.
