KINGSFORD — There are many things that we can be thankful for. Snowplows, snowblowers and helpful neighbors with a shovel are some of the treasures we all appreciated this past snowfall.
Plows were working almost around the clock clearing roads last week, as we all worked together to help dig out from under the snow.
Like many organizations, the Golden K stayed home through the storm. Golden K marked the recent passing of longtime member Don Pedo, who was one of the superstar voices in the Golden Throats singing group.
The seniors were happy to resume the usual Monday meeting with guests Sue LeDuc, Crystal Hogan and Dawn Kranz. LeDuc brightened up the day with wonderful piano playing.
Hogan and Kranz lifted spirits with their guitars and beautiful voices. “What a Wonderful World,” and “You Raise Me Up” were just a few of the songs that delighted the seniors.
Golden K will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford, with a program providing information about organ donation. All are welcome for coffee and doughnuts.
