‘Sherlock 1899’ production opens Friday at The Braumart

IRON MOUNTAIN — The Dickinson County Community Theatre upcoming production of “Sherlock 1899,” an original stage adaptation by Stewart Boyles, opens this weekend at The Braumart in Iron Mountain.

Show times are 7 p.m. Friday; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday; and 2 p.m. Sunday.

The cast and crew will then travel to the Crystal Theatre in Crystal Falls for a second weekend of performances. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, April 17; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 18; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 19.

The play is based on the 1887 novel “A Study in Scarlet” by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, which introduced the iconic characters Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson. The duo takes the audience on a murder investigation in London.

The production runs approximately 2 1/2 hours and includes two intermissions.

Tickets are also available at the door the night of each performance.
