906 Fest to feature two days of music this weekend

IRON MOUNTAIN — Get ready for a two days of music at the third-annual 906 Fest.

Opening on Friday is the Peltier Brothers of Bark River, playing a variety of country, classic rock and blues music from 5 to 8 p.m., followed by local band Next Myle from 8 to 11 p.m.

Festivities Saturday kick off at 1 p.m. with a high-energy Kid Rave hosted by Curio Production.

From 3 to 4:40 p.m., the Lupine of the Houghton area will play a variety of pop/rock music, followed by hard rock band Doozy of Delta County from 4:55 to 6:35 p.m. The Marquette group Jasno will play a variety of alternative music from 6:50 to 8:30 p.m.

Headlining is Poolhouse, the indie rock band from Provo, Utah, from 8:45 to 10:15 p.m.

The event will also have local food trucks, mobile arcade, pop-up shops and artisan vendors.

Friday — Kind of Blues Band of the local and Escanaba area (variety blues music), 7 to 10 p.m., $5 cover charge.

Saturday — Aaron Simmons of Stewartville, Minn. (country acoustic music), 7 to 10 p.m.

Sunday — Sunday FUNdraiser Day with Bryan Drewyor, the One Human Band , 4 to 7 p.m. The suggest cover/donation is a $5 cover charge, with 100% going to the UP Land Conservancy.

Wednesday — Jackson Taylor of Medford, Wis. (variety and original country acoustic music), 6 to 9 p.m.

BIG 10 SPORTS BAR & GRILL, QUINNESEC — Today, Mane Event Karaoke (variety music), 8 p.m. to midnight.

NUTTER’S SPORTS BAR & GRILL, POWERS — Today, Katelynn Whitens of Hermansville (variety acoustic music), 4 to 7 p.m.

ISLAND RESORT & CASINO, HARRIS — Today through Saturday, Marshall Star Band of Eau Claire, Wis. (variety country music) , starting at 7:30 p.m. Central time.

ALPHA BREWING CO., ALPHA — Friday, Rhythm & Brews with Melanie Rose of the local area (variety acoustic music), 4 to 7 p.m.

Tuesday — Music bingo, starting at 5:30 p.m.

CUCULI’S BAR, CHANNING –Friday, Michael Hozz of Republic (variety acoustic music), 5 to 8 p.m.

Saturday — Cuculi’s Talent Quest International Karaoke Contest starting at 7 p.m. Last chance to enter. Singers can choose from three categories –pop/rock; country, and masters, age 50 and older. Each week a male and female winner will be selected in each category and move on to compete against each other. Local level contestant entry fee is $10. Wednesdays — Trivia night, starting at 5:20 p.m. Free to play. Winner will receive a free Summer Place pizza.

PINE GROVE BAR, REPUBLIC — Friday, Tom Edbergs’ Sundown of Gladstone, formerly of the Felch area (classic and ’90s country and classic rock music), 7 to 10 p.m. Central time.

Saturday — Troy Graham of Marquette (folk, variety acoustic music) 2 to 5 p.m. Central time; Groove Candy of the Marquette area (funky R&B, soul, dance and rock music), 8 p.m. to midnight Central time.

DOCKERS ON NOQUEBAY, CRIVITZ, Wis. — Friday, Fine Line of Hobart, Wis. (high-energy ’80s to current rock music), starting at 9 p.m.

Saturday, Nathan Grajeda, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Green Bay, Wis., (blues-rock energy music), starting at 8 p.m.
