Formed in Flint, Mich., in 1969, Grand Funk Railroad quickly established itself as one of America's leading live rock acts. Over the past five decades, the band has sold more than 25 million albums, earned 19 charting singles and recorded eight Top 40 hits, including two No. 1 singles.

The band, often referred to as "The American Band," has earned seven gold and 10 platinum certifications. Among its best-known songs are "We're an American Band," "I'm Your Captain/Closer to Home," "The Loco-Motion" and "Some Kind of Wonderful."

Grand Funk Railroad's music continues to reach generations of listeners, with its influence extending to artists such as Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Foreigner and Journey. Its songs have also remained popular through radio airplay, movies and television campaigns.

At the heart of Grand Funk Railroad are founding members Don Brewer, drummer and vocalist who wrote and sang "We're an American Band," and bassist Mel Schacher, whose grooves helped define the band's signature sound. They're joined by keyboardist and lead vocalist Tim Cashion, known as "Dr. Tim," who has toured with Robert Palmer and Bob Seger, and guitarist Mark Chatfield, a veteran of Bob Seger's Silver Bullet Band.

Whether a lifelong fan or discovering Grand Funk Railroad for the first time, this is a chance to experience the power, the hits and the enduring legacy of one of rock's most celebrated bands.
