Veterans picnic on Saturday

The Descendants

IRON MOUNTAIN — Three local bands will be performing for the Dickinson County Veterans Appreciation Picnic concert at Lake Antoine Park in Iron Mountain on Saturday. The event is open to the public starting at 2:30 p.m.

Runaway Train of Hermansville will play a variety of country music starting at 2:30 p.m., with the local variety country group 141 North to begin at 5 p.m. The evening closes with The Descendants of Hermansville playing a variety of classic and new rock and country tunes from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Food and beverages will be available at the park grounds.

Live music will play from the party’s start to its finish: Bode Walters from 3 to 4 p.m.; Jim Counter from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.; Next Myle from 6 to 8 p.m.; and Sons of Legend from 8:30 to 11 p.m. This event pays tribute to the late Marv Perdue’s creative legacy, with a secondary goal of raising funds to recover the costs of his funeral. Food will be available. They will also have drawings for prizes.
