IRON MOUNTAIN — The Iron Mountain High School Class of 1957 celebrated its 60-year reunion on June 23 and 24.

Fifty-four classmates and spouses met Friday evening at Recreation Lanes for hors d’oeuvres and a buffet.

A trivia contest highlighting events, activities, and faculty members from 1957 was enjoyed by all. Specially designed insulated mugs and placemats with the IM symbol and inscription “IMHS Class of 1957 — 60th reunion” were given to all in attendance. A class picture was taken of the classmates.

Saturday morning, 34 classmates, spouses and guests enjoyed a breakfast buffet at the Izzo-Mariucci Center.

A memorial service was conducted to remember 40 deceased classmates and John Tabaka, our senior class advisor.

A prayer service, lighting of votive lights, and the release of balloons was conducted. Special guests were Mark Herman, high school and middle school principal, and Zachary Hilsabeck, the 2017 graduate recipient of our monetary award, and his family.

The activities for the morning concluded with Herman leading a tour of the high school facilities. Classmates were amazed at the changes and the updates that were made since they attended Iron Mountain High School.

On Saturday evening, 49 classmates and spouses were treated to a dinner buffet at Recreation Lanes. Highlighting the evening was a presentation by classmate Frank Palluconi on the features of the planet Mars. His vast knowledge and work experience in this area was evident during the many questions asked of him.

During the evening events, classmates were able view old pictures, booklets, and many more items that brought back memories from the past.

The reunion committee members were commended for organizing a great reunion. Classmates are already looking forward to next reunion.
