A pilot explains the preflight inspection to cadets before their orientation flight.

The Dickinson County Composite Squadron, the local unit of the Civil Air Patrol, will host an open house at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Kingsford Armory. Members of the squadron will be present to greet visitors and talk about CAP’s missions for America. Prospective cadets age 12 and older and their parents are welcome to hear about CAP and what the group does.
